I have a Mercury 90hp 4 stroke on my 618. The stainless that came with it is a 16 pitch and was perfect until a prop shop took material off of it without replacing the material. Now it over-revs and the prop is basically a paper wight in my eyes. Anyone else have a similar setup? What do you run for a prop? The Mercury website says to get the same prop but they say 17. I have a lead on the same prop but an 18 pitch. Would this be a bad move? Thoughts?

If the 16" pitch was perfect, then buy a new 16" just like it.
And if a 16 was perfect an 18" would be a dog, taking forever to plane.
