I run a 16 foot fury and was originally going to buy a 14. I ended up with a 16 for a few reasons. So maybe this could help you.
1. There is only about 20lbs weight difference.
2. Here in PA you have to wear a life vest at all times in vessels under 16 foot. May be different in your location.
3. Pricing is about the same.
That being said I love the boat for the smaller lakes I fish. I load and unload the boat with ease using my waders and I fish alone 80% of the time. Boat is holding up very well and is used a lot.
One thing I would suggest is the upgraded Fury XL trailer. That trailer has a U shaped rear cross bar that makes for easier loading and unloading by yourself. The standard trailer crossbar is straight across and makes loading more difficult on shallow ramps. Hope this helps...
