Since I plan to power the potential craft with my fairly new 20 HP Honda (not buy a new motor), it's not enough HP for 16' boats. Only a few possibilities really exist and not all those are sold with 100 miles of me. The 1400 Fury at 14.5 feet 70" beam and the MirrowCraft145T at 14.5' and 76" beam are the primary candidates. And the Mirrowcraft dealer is ~ 100 miles away. Even the Crestliner 1450 is to big and heavy for the 20 HP motor. Plus I have limit space at the house for storage and the longer trailer associated with a 16' boat could be an issue.
Until then I will have to keep fishing out of my glorified runabout at 14' 70" beam which with all work I've but into it isn't a bad little fishing boat but still has the utility boat limitations. Thanks for the input.
