Take a close look at the plastic gears also Propster i had a stripped gear as well as the bearing. Im guessing the bearing dragging so bad created the gear problem. Probably still worth rebuilding for a spare as the gears are cheap. Mine was the little drive motor gear. Took a solid 8 years of heavy heavy use to fry this drive though so not sure how advantageous it would be to save and mothball for 8 years.
