I'll be testing my new Ulterra out on LotW the last week of October and offer a report when we return.

Current extended forecast is calling for below-freezing temps in the mid-20s most every night, upper 30s to mid-40s during the day. Water temps should be in the 40s and dropping steadily. Deploying at 25 degrees after an 8-10 mile run to start the day should proof it.

When motor trolling I put my bow mount electric in the water in order to use the transducer on my network. That means a lot of stow/deploy, plus adjusting the bow mount's depth so that it's in the water enough to read the transducer but without being at risk of a rock strike at 4mph. Our hope is to never need to open the windshield the whole week: hit deploy and start trolling, hit stow and go.

Of course, my Terrova will be in the truck as a backup, just in case.
