2d will work as long as it has clean water underneath it. No rivets, no strakes( can't have air bubbles). And it's flattish to the horizon. My 2d works to 67mph then to 75 I would guess I don't have clean enough water underneath. My ducer is 1" I front of my drain plug. If your doing this first I would say let some 10 gallons of water in the bilge and check locations before you epoxy have a friend hold it and get on plane.
