Location: Ames, Iowa | I was at a ramp on the Des Moines River north of DM many years ago (before cell phones) with my young wife. We saw a carload of older teenage/young 20's kids in the parking lot, after having come out of the river on a float. One guy so wasted and passed out his friends were carrying him into their car. A gal was running the show and looking like she was ready to drive outta there. Got a half mile up the road and flagged a state trooper. He headed for the ramp and had all of them (maybe 6-7) up against the car in 5 minutes. Boat ramps are vacation spots in Iowa. |
