The installation is similar to installing an on board charger. Some nuts/bolts & wires. If you have room for to install it, it is a piece of cake. I had to get a bit creative and make a panel so I could mount it under my console where nothing is flat. I also had to extend the wire going to my starting battery so I had to do some soldering of the connections which for me is easy. The purple wire needs to go to a hot terminal so it activates when the key is on.

The instruction with the thing are really bad but the people I called at Minn Kota for help were VERY good.
