I'll try to get a measurement for you, but it's pretty tight. I have a Terrova and if I have the bow seat post in I tend to put the pedal off to the side and fish sideways. Not bad, other than having to move the pedal to the other side if switching sides of the boat.

I always had a butt seat installed in my aluminum boats, but the 1760 is stable enough even in rough water that I rarely put the post in. About the only time I do is in the spring if I happen to sit next to a brush pile for bluegills or crappies for a while and feel like sitting. Casting for muskies, I've preferred to leave it out.

Will try to remember to measure tonight.
