Yes sir, that should be the ticket for you. SI/DI transducers are designed for off-plane readings and are meant to be paired with a high-speed 2d transducer for depth readings on pad. Your SI transducer is likely leaving the water when on plane and since sonar does not shoot through air, you are loosing depth.
