Couple of things on Navionics they constantly updating mapping on lakes, you can preview the lake mapping on the website at https://webapp.navionics.com/?lang=en#@6&key=w%7DeqGfwiwP. When you go their zoom in and click on the Sonar Icon on the lower left corner for the SonarChart layer this is Navionics HD layer and the layer that gets improvements as they do mapping. If you have been running Hotmaps Premium it does not contain the SonarChart layer the card is to small to hold all this data.

The SonarChart Layer is available on Hotmaps Platinum and Navionics+. Couple of things on these 2 cards Platinum is regional card No, So East, West and Canada. Nav+ is now available so that one card covers all of US and Canada and comes preloaded with Nautical charts fro all of US and Canada which is the first view when you go the web app. You then download the SonarChart Layer to the Navioncs + for the regions you fish, you can have multiple regions such as Kentucky, Great lakes, MN and WI and Canada all on one card.

Because SonarChart layer contains so much data they can’t load it all on the card so you select the areas that you want.

One other card that is available is the Navionics Updates card fro 99.00 vs 199.00 of the 2 above. It contains all the data and works the same as Nav+ but you need to own a map card already any SD map card except Hotmaps Platinum. you activate Nav Updates thru a process using your old map card which can be Lakemaster, Lowrance, Premium. Once activated the Updates card becomes a Nav+

All Navionics Cards come with a year of updates so you can refresh your card as many times as want during he first year to keep your card updated and on Nav+ and Updates you can add and subtract areas on the card for a year. After the first year to reactivate the Update process it is half the price of a new card.

if you own a Platinum card now you can buy a year of updates fro 99.00 vs paying 199.00 for a new card.

As an added bonus get the Mobile app al the same mapping as the card, great supplement to your map card, allows you to sit in your cabin, car or work and prefish
