2013 Tacoma V6 long bed owner here. It's my second Tacoma I've owned and I downgraded from a Tundra, to a MDX, then to the Tacoma. I do lots of city driving or else I would still be driving the Tundra. That being said, I love my Taco. It pulls my 1650 Fishhawk with a 115 Opti with no problems. I have hauled it on long trips including a 15 hour haul to Northern Ontario. We averaged 12mpg with 4 guys and a heavy load. My only concern is braking on steep hills. If your trailer has brakes, I would highly suggest getting a Taco with a tow package and brake controller. Other than that, you don't get all the bells and whistles that are available in a full size truck..... I do miss the moonroof and retractable rear window in my old Tundra crewmax but I sure as heck don't miss the city gas mileage.
