Recognize that a small amount of water freezing in your outboard is generally NOT an issue. The problem with water freezing is expansion. If water is trapped in an area of the motor where it cannot expand without cracking something, then yes a problem may occur ....stress MAY. But if a bit of water is pooled somewhere and it freezes and has room to expand just slightly....no issue at all.
