Here's a couple pics on where I placed my side imaging ducer on my last two boats both were 619's so similar to 618. I place it so the bottom of ducer is above bottom of boat so if you hit or run over something floating or bottom you don't bust the ducer off. I also run y cable to a shoot thru hull for 2d sonar will on plane. Hope this helps any.
