Like Wicked said, to use the iPilot Link's special functions, you'll need a newer Humminbird with Lakemaster maps.

To do the job you describe, however, the standard iPilot will be fine. You can record a track and let the motor follow it, or just point it in the direction you want to go and the AutoPilot will keep you on your course even in moderate wind.

The only thing I'd add is to get the most powerful motor your boat can accomodate (depending on number of batteries), and the longest shaft available - you'll appreciate it when you're bouncing in the waves.

My ipilot doesnt seem to hold the course when i set it on autopilot, have been disapointed with it so far, not sure if its me or the unit though..

anyone else have problems?
