My first boat was a late 60's starcraft 14ft v-bottom boat with wood bench seats and a 9.5hp Johnson. I bought it from my neighbor with my paper route money. The boat primarily sat and was used once a year on a camping trip to oard lake. Many of the neighbors wanted it but he never wanted to sell it. One day I just threw it out there and he shot me a price. I had the money and told him he would have it tomorrow.

It sat outside, to protect the seats I tied it to the trailer upside down when not in use. High winds tore of the tie strap and flung the boat into the house, luckily no damage.

In college, I put my bed up on blocks to store the motor, gas tank, trolling motor and battery.

I refinished the seats more times than I could remember. Fishing hotspots had just come out with those little area books(dating myself) armed with a full set made many trips to little lakes all over southeast Wisconsin. Even took it to bigger lakes lime castle rock and petenwell. Even repainted and rewired the trailer. The boat never planed, not even with just me and no gear but I liked it. Took it to college and fished all those lakes near Carbondale. I ended up selling it during a less than pleasant marriage tired of seeing it sit and die a dormant death in a barn.

As soon as my divorce was settled I bought my second boat, a 16ft misty river with a 60merc and a pinpoint trolling motor. I still own my 3rd and 4th boats.
