Anyone every change out the power trim motor on a 2004 Merc Optimax 150HP?

Im guessing its the power trim motor and not something like a ground or a switch because I can still raise/lower the motor very slowly---and the trim motor sounds sick and dying....

Any chance a non-professional mechanic could change that out-----one guy told me you have to take the whole motor off to change out the trim motor......WOW if that's true...

Any thoughts welcome----

footnote---if there are any Merc mechanics in the Milwaukee area that would like to make their professional rate and fix this for me----leave your number----ill give you a call-----boat is in Muskego.....sitting at MW marine waiting to be looked at----

I need it done before July 5th....
