Towing shouldn't really make a difference because its going to take the same amount of energy to pull regardless of what engine it came from. The difference would be in normal everyday driving where the 5.0 might use more fuel than the ecoboost. I run the 5.0. The ecoboost is a good way to get a lot of power with more everyday economy than the equivalent V8. I'd get it if I needed it.

For what it's worth, I think the 5.0 sounds better lol
