I would not get a GEL battery, mostly because of the charging requirements. Most battery chargers do not work properly with GEL batteries.

I use two Cabelas AGM batteries for my Terrova 80, and they work great as deep-cycle batteries. Any regular charger should work OK with an AGM battery, too.
