I have the 899 with the transducer upgrade. I think it's worthwhile as I want the most detIl possible. That's the whole point of SI. To see structure and possibly fish clearly. What's an extr 75$ if u r spending a thousand plus. I think the 899 is big enough too btw cause width is the most important in side imaging and it's very close to the 999. Having said that I would have the 1199 or HDS 12 if I was made of money. Lol.
