Subject: Hydrofoils


I recently bought a 01 Crestliner Angler 16 with a 40 horse four stroke Mariner. I'm having a lot of trouble planing out at low speed or rough water. A friend suggested trying a hydrofoil on the cavitation plate. Anyone have any experience with one? What brands should I consider? I'm not really excited about drilling holes into the plate - will it screw things up if I take it off later?
