Thanks for the responses, after reading these I'm thinking the guy didn't use a padlock to lock the trolling motor to his quick release mount and when he hit the log it pushed it off. I thinking I'm going with the quick release mount and a padlock.
Here's the link of the video, it's kind of funny in a bad kind of way. I would have liked to heard how the rest of the video went:)
