Location: Woodstock, IL		Yes, that is correct. There is a vented hidden compartment under the center storage that houses the batteries. I looked at a 2002 while shopping last fall and thought it was there as well. You have to take the hanging bait holders out to get to it; however the '03 doesn't come with the bait holders.
