Lots of good advice on here. Ultimately I think you're probably better off with a well-equipped, slightly used rig with a good 4 stroke on there. More money for electronics.

As for the alumacraft vs crestliner vs lund, there's a ton in here. They all tailor to different styles of fishing. I'm a crestliner fish hawk guy myself, but I'm all about casting platforms and welded hulls.
