Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | You need to make sure you are not using screws the same size as your drill, and need at least 1.5" screws. Goop up the threads with silicone sealant before running them in. When drilling through, there should be resistance as you go through the aluminum plate.
If that fails to work, get a 3" hole saw and a drill. Go to the exact center of the base placement, and slowly and carefully cut a hole in the floor. Then you can dig out the foam and use regular T Nuts, place the T nuts first and run them up into the glass so they stay put, and use bolts instead of screws. Place a coffee can plastic lid over the hole gooped up with silicone after sealing the end grain of the hole carefully.
If when you cut the hole, the wood in the floor is soft, you may need to replace a small section, which is not too difficult. |
