Automotive blade fuse is a good suggestion.

I would charge your cranking battery, and see if it still happens. If it does, what is happening is your starter is pulling the cranking battery voltage down below 11 1/2 volts or so, and the finder shuts off below a certain voltage. I can't remember exactly what the voltage is, but 11 1/2 sounds about right. Time for a new starting battery.
