I wouldn't own an etec but any of the other brands are good. I had a pro xs on my last boat and loved it. My current boat has a Suzy and I'm coming around to the 4 strokes growl. I would still say I prefer a 2 over a 4 though. You don't have to fog an opti at the end of the season. All I did with mine was put whatever stage merc gas additive they recommended for storage and run it into the motor. My rig does see the water more than most though and only sits idle for about 2 months a year.
