I believe they standardized the bolt patterns for all makes of outboards, with that said 40 and 50hp are in a grey area in my mind because some could be clamp on motors and might not fall into that.

If you were talking going from 90hp to 150hp those should be the same pattern. So I want to say yes same pattern but I have no experience to back up that. All the sites I searched seemed to say the cut off for the same pattern is at 40hp being the smallest motor with the same pattern as bigger motors and any motor under 40hp has a smaller pattern.
