Location: Northwest WI		I have, and still use, an older 897SI and 997 SI. Last year I added an 1198. They all do a great job. Given the choices originally posted I'd go with the 1197...hands down. The 897 and 997 are highly capable units in their own right and I don't find any loss of functionality because they're not HD. This said, I very quickly appreciated the larger screen of the 1100 series.

HB has a great software update program that will update the 1197 programming. This won't make it HD but all other capabilities will be updated.

HD is nice to have...but to my mind the larger screen size trumps HD.
