Subject: Ipilot vs Terrova

Location: MN
I am going to be buying a trolling motor before the season. Originally I was looking at a powerdrive with autopilot. After looking in to the features and price a bit more it makes sense to at least go with the powerdrive with ipilot. I am kind of torn between Ipilot powerdrive and the Terrova ipilot link and foot pedal. From what I understand these are the differences between the two. Let me know if I missed any.

1. Terrova has a foot pedal and a remote. Ipilot just has remote. For those that have Terrova do you find yourself using the footpedal or mostly just the remote?

2. Terrova has a different motor release system.

3. Ipilot has spot lock, record a track, and cruise control. The terrova has these features plus it can follow contours. Did I miss anything in regards to the GPS features on these two?

4. You can get the Terrova in larger lb thrust and 36 volt which I do not need.

5. Terrova has a different steering/motor system. I was told by a rep who toured the minnkota facility that they are essentially the same. Any truth?

I am leaning towards the ipilot because right now I do not have a graph to link with the terrova and even if I did I do not think I would use the contour tracing feature much. The only worry I have is wanting a foot pedal option as well. I have fished with a copilot and sometimes it was bothersome not being able to adjust the motor mid-cast. If I missed any features the Terrova has that the Ipilot does not please inform me and if you feel I should go Terrova instead of Ipilot please tell me why.

Thanks Guys
