Hiya,

Check out ebay. Your buddy should be able to get a new or lightly used prop in the size he needs without too much issue, and could very well save a few dollars in doing so. If looking for new and willing to go aftermarket, check out a solas propeller.

The solas amita series (if memory serves me correctly) is the aluminum prop. The ears will be a little bigger giving better bite, but they will be thinner as well due to their casting process. Gives a little more performance like a steel prop at the price point of aluminum.
