I have a designated fused wire run from the battery to a separate fuse block under the dash that I have all of my electronics run to with the correct amp fuse for each unit. IMHO, every new fishing boat should come rigged this way… or it’s the first thing that a fisherman should do considering the total cost is under $50, and only takes a couple of hours.

You are only talking about running two sets of wires to the helm that will be become permanent fixtures that can always be tapped into for any future electronics for the life of the boat.

The best part is that you can pitch those PIA in-line fuses and install the correct amp fuse for each unit in the fuse block, if there is ever a problem, you know where to find the fuse.
