I lived in Texas for three years, during that time I had a 1988 Ranger 390V bass boat. Tons of fun to drive, I had two speeds, off and wide open. Not the fastest by a long shot, that boat was a tank. Dragged it up to LOTW one time, was awesome to muskie fish out of once you got to the spot. On the rough days it would "wallow" prior to getting on plane when you were moving at low speeds and it was pretty easy to take water over the bow. If I was fishing big water all the time, not sure I would be in a bass boat.
