Location: Eastern Ontario		It's OK no different from unplugging your tea kettle. You might want to put some dielectric grease in the terminals of the unit and the power cord to prevent corrosion for future use. Shouldn't be difficult to locate the fuse or breaker.

If the unit has an external GPS antenna you would want to disconnect the power some od them search signal even with unit off.
