I like mine.. Yes it seems to always have the rooster tail coming off mine..
I have a Navionics in my 998, and lakemaster in my 858. So whatever one you like will likely work..
I always used lowrance until last year.. Got the 858 originally so I could use I-pilot link, and liked the unit enough that I bought the 998 about mid season..
