I agree with TomCat. I've spent 15 weeks on LOTW over the past 13 years and never seen a 6 footer. I've seen waves on Leech Lake each summer that I have never seen on LOTW.

Anyways, most of those weeks in the past 13 years have been in my 16 foot Crestliner Fish Hawk with an F80 Yamaha. I have never once felt like I was in danger. A little uncomfortable a few times? Sure. But never felt unsafe.

It's not an ideal boat to handle the windier days, but it works just fine 75% of the time.

That being said, my buddy bought a Ranger 620 two years ago and I must say, that thing feels like I am fishing on an aircraft carrier. It's just awesome. I can't think of a better boat to musky fish LOTW in!
