The console is bolted in, with stainless bolts and nuts in the front and side. This is not something you'd want to be taking out and putting back in often. But it can be removed, for sure. I'd try it with and without, and then decide if you absolutely have to go single console. I think you'll find it doesn't really get in the way. I think resale will be better with the dual console. I also think the rear deck extension will be a plus for muskies.

As for the net, I believe my Frabill Power Catch with handle extended would lay flat without the rear deck extension. Not sure with the extension. But I never have my handle extended, even in my 1890, while casting. It doesn't take much time to pull the handle out, so it was never an issue for me, even landing a fish while alone.
