Location: Lake St. Clair | I second the RAM mount and Quick Detach plate. The RAM mount has saved my motor more than once running in rough water on Lake St Clair. I mounted mine on the inside of the gunnel. If yours is tall enough to fit the ball, I would recommend that spot. Keeps it out of the way. If not the top of the gunnel will work too. You will get a more stable mount there rather than on the casting deck. Plus you wont have to go through the carpet and all that. Also, the quick detach plate is awesome. it is nice to have on really steep ramps where you could catch the prop on your trailer roller and snap it, yes ive done that more than once and its not fun. Just pop the motor off, set it on the deck, launch and re-attach. It is very easy and quick and will save you a prop or two. My cover fits over my trolling motor, but if it didn't it would be great for that reason too. |
