More than likely its an issue with the LCD panel, the LCD drivers or the connection to the main board. The LCD itself can be replaced but it will not be the same. Lowrance uses an optically bonded LCD (glass overlay with a gel type material between glass and screen) to make them more viewable in direct sunlight.

The LCD part number is Sharp LQ104V1DG21 10.4"

The same connector is used on an LCX 25. If you are lucky enough to know someone that has that unit you could verify that is indeed the LCD panel and not a problem with main board by connecting the LCX25 board to the LCX104 panel and see if it fires up. Do the same with the LCX104 board to the LCX25 panel.

Watch ebay. Non functional units are sold all time. Maybe you'll get lucky and can find one that has a different problem than this and use it for parts.
