I too have run the Hotfoot since they came out.
" I have ran a hot foot for the past 20+ years, they are great for running and navigation. They do however stink for trolling. With hand throttle you can set it and forget it. Hot foot it comes back to idle once you move your foot off. All in all every boat I have has either had it at purchase or I added it later. "

I picked up an AL adjustable length cane at a rummage sale. I wedge it between the seat and pedal for instant cruise control when trolling.
