If you're talking about for your truck, protecting your boat, I made my own for like $150. Decide if you want the whisker kind or the mudflap kind. I went with the whisker style on the advice a couple RV friends. I guess the buzz around the RV shows and meetings is that the whisker style is better at absorbing the rocks and dropping them, whereas the mudflap type can bounce them around and not actually stop the rock.

I made mine with enough "whisker" to make it a double row of it, a piece of perforated angle, a U-bolt and a handful of 1/4-20 hardware. Made it all the way from MI back up to Kodiak with no issues and I think it did a great job.
