My point is that the NEC tables are @30C(86F) and for either 75C cable or 90C cable. There are also no derating factors for temps above 40C(104F). They are really not applicable. They also don't consider voltage drop. What temperature do you expect where the cables are run? I never said you should use #10AWG.

All factors need to be taken into account. If the batteries are in the back and the 60A rated TM is on the front of a 15-20' boat maybe you should consider #4AWG.
