I have a 2008 1760GT. Had the same problem and fixed it by buying a cheap rubber plug and putting that in the drain hole in the bottom of the livewell. Now I have an extra wet/dry storage compartment. Rain water will make it's way in there as the lid has a rubber gasket but there is no lip like the completely dry front storage compartments.

This was a big problem for me as I have a Yammie 75 tiller and any extra weight makes a difference on planing time etc. That livewell holds a LOT of water.

If I want to use the livewell I still can just simply pull the plug.
