I'm on my second season on Goodyear marathons and honestly they are working great. I heard of many problems with the marathons. But I'm impressed with mine so far. Had the carlisle tires and they are F-N junk. If you trailer alot buy the best, if ya only trailer from house to boat landing (short distance) it doesn't matter. I've heard from the walleye circuit guys that travel 1000s of miles a season (to catch a walleye?) that they are very impressed with the Kumho 857 and the maxxis tire. Like SHEP said keep your tires at max psi. The Gdyr Marathons even recommend running a higher psi then max if your driving 70mph or more.
