It depends on how hard you run it. If you're running in the 3500 +/- sweet spot opti's use very little oil. If you like to run over 4000rpm's you're going to use as much as an efi. I rarely go over 4k for any length of time and have never used more then 6 gallons in a given year and that includes lots of trips where I run.

I run a 225 opti for reference.
