Location: Duluth, MN		I have a 620 and mounted mine under the step to the right of the drain plug. No issues in a year as far as turbulence goes.

Keep in mind the SI only works effectively up to 8 MPH I believe (somebody will correct me Im sure if Im wrong LOL) at any rate its no good at high speeds.

Also with mounting it there at so it is above the bottom of the transom it is protected from damage to some extent.
