Not sure what the original question was as it was deleted, but there are other options to run both motors off of the main tank source. I run an oil injected 2 stroke Johnson and a 4 stroke kicker. Here is how I made two lines from one main line from the tank...I installed a fuel/water separator (sierra brand, I believe). In the model I purchased, I was able to run the main line to the separator, then there were multiple outlet lines I could run from the separator. So...I ran two lines, each with their own primer bulbs coming from the separator. The separator itself is like a small reservoir, so it never gets sucked dry...and..if you are in a situation where you are using the kicker but need to get the main motor started to stay off rocks/shore due to wind, etc., you can.
Not sure how it would work with some of the V-6 or larger motors, but it should work.
Compatibility is such that if you are running 4 stroke, you are golden. If you run an injected 2 stroke, and your kicker is two stroke, I would think you would need to run an auxiliary tank, unless the kicker has an injection system as well. I sold my 2 stroke kicker to go with a 4 stroke, just to get rid of having the auxiliary tank sitting in my splash well (the only place it was out of the way, yet secure enough to run).
