I think much of the time, these boats use dual pick-ups for a kicker fuel supply. So both engines basically have their own fuel supply. That's the way my Tyee was anyway, and in my research into a new boat I see that mentioned a fair amount. For the Verado, its lift pump is pretty sensitive I was told--so the kicker needed its own fuel source. I don't know about the Optimax though, so I'd place a call to your local Merc dealer to inquire. Otherwise I'll bet Steve knows...given his experience with Mercs over the years.

Otherwise if you can't find the answer, I can pretty much guarantee someone who will know. Just PM me if you need the number, but I'll bet someone on this board has done this before.
