Location: Hayward, WI		With the Mercury be carefull of overheating the motor. The oil pump is driven by a plastic gear on the crankshaft, overheating can damage this gear, as can over revving the motor.

I personally don't trust any of the VRO systems, have seen too many fail and ruin motors. I have seen pumps as new as 2-3 years old fail.
