I would like to replace my rails on my boat (Ranger 681). I currently have two rails which are approximately 51” long. They are the older style rails with four Stanchions. The stanchions are weak and made out of pot metal. Two snapped on me last season therefore I want to get rid of them. I am contemplating on new rails (solid stanchions) or going with Traxstech. Questions I have how many of you are running Traxstech? I run six rods what would be an adequate amount of track needed to run six? Can I get by with a 36” track? Will there be enough space in between the three rod holders? I know some people who run Traxstech and they love it due do its simplicity. What other pros / cons are there for Traxstech vs. Rails?
